WWPJD

Sure, when I saw Miami was hosting the Super Bowl and mangrimage on the same weekend, I had one thought: colossal clusterfuck. There was no doubt in my mind plane tickets would be expensive, hotel accommodations would be in short supply, and the entertainment districts would resemble downtown Chicago on St. Patrick’s Day. I thought a different destination or alternative dates were preferable, but I lacked conviction. I was open to persuasion and happy to follow a compelling argument for any place at any time. We chose Miami during Super Bowl weekend. Miami!!!!! Purple Jesus!!!!! I certainly did not hear any cogent alternatives proposed. In fact, I almost bought my ticket a week ago and here we are questioning the plan. Hmmm.

Currently, we are awaiting a review of ticket packages before we make a final ruling. In the meantime, people should voice their preferences, remonstrate. Think of this as an evite, where your options are yes, whatever, and no. My response is whatever, although I feel reluctant to change plans since we are half way down the road to Miami. In the event that we modify our itinerary, we should cover any change fees that Kofi incurs. Here are my expectations. If you are leaning toward no, say it loud and provide an alternative. Be honest. Soren did this. After we know where people stand, those in favor will have hip-hop rap battle with those who are opposed. Winner takes all.

In closing… Two men were walking along the river. One said to the other, "Look how happy the fish are as they swim in the river!" The other said, "You are not a fish. How do you know whether the fish are happy?" The first replied, "You are not me. How do you know whether I know what the fish think?"

  1. I took the liberty of putting everyone in a category. If you disagree, respond.

    Yes: Kofi, Jose, Einar, Klinker
    Whatever: Ben, Ziyad
    No: Soren, Sebas, Simon

  2. I should be relocated to the "whatever" category. Haven't had time to look at tickets lately but I know they will be obscenely expensive. Looking forward to the manngrimage whenever and wherever it takes place. I have a board meeting on Friday but once I'm done with that I promise I'll be more involved in the planning.
