Hey Guys,
How are you? I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday or at least weekend for the ones abroad.
The vikings are certainly looking good, looking great and the road to the SuperBowl is getting shorter.
The key question still lingering in the air is the housing issue. I was talking to my buddy and he would be glad to host us. The main issue is space. With potentially eight people, it will be hard to accommodate everybody in a one bedroom apartment.
Here is the breakdown of number of people per night so far:
Thursday: Kofi, Ben, Einar, Jose = 4
Friday: Kofi, Ben, Einar, Ziyad, Sebas, Jose = 6
Saturday: Kofi, Ben, Einar, Ziyad, Sebas, Jose = 6
Sunday: Kofi, Ben, Ziyad, Sebas, Jose = 5
Monday: Ziyad, Jose = 2
The key question is comfort vs savings.
Since I am the only broke student amongst us, it is no surprise that I lean towards savings over comfort. I have no problem bringing a sleeping bag and resting there.
A potential good option, would be to rent the place that I posted below. It is a 1 bedroom, which could fit about half the people and the other half could fit at my buddy's apartment. This means that some people would sleep in a bed, but most would be on coaches or sleeping bags. The advantage is that the two places are on the same road, so transportation should be easy.
What do you guys think? Is this a go or any other ideas with regards to housing?

I'm cool either way.
ReplyDeleteWon't be sleeping much anyway.
I'm not that concerned about sleeping on the floor but having only one bathroom available will be a MAJOR issue. Let's not forget what Einar is capable of. For that reason only I would be in favor of getting a second space.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post and breakdown Jose! Thanks Sebas for boosting my self confidence in the toilet department. I was starting to doubt myself after having to be "extra quiet" on the toilet over the last few days (stayed in a flat with a girl where you could hear absolutely everything). I also don't mind the floor/sleeping bag/mat, but the extra toilet is a value add which may come in handy after too many tequilas and vodka tonics...
ReplyDeleteHope you all are doing great! Quick update: just returned last night from a trip to Kenya (family) and Dubai (explore city and hang out with a girl I met at a youth hostel in Miami for 4 hours 2 years ago...). Dubai - it looks like something taken out of the future. Crazy extremes - modern slavery almost with Indians/Pakistanis/Malaysians being imported for work (and often having their passports confiscated), and more luxury high rises in that one dense location than what I have probable seen combined anywhere else. Completely out of this world. Now they are facing financial doubts so we'll see what happens - cannot be sustained in my opinion. But one aspect that is amazing: all people from different backgrounds and religions coexist without any problems, meaning that everyone respects each others differences and gets along, even though it is at a shallow level. Not sure I have seen this coexistence anywhere else.
Peace out!
