Several observations:
1. Super Bowl tickets are super expensive. Which means we are going to be watching the game on TV no matter where we are. (Unless Kofi can pull a Kofi and hook us up with reasonably priced tickets.)
2. Miami is going to be a clusterfuck on Super Bowl weekend. Yes, the clusterfuck itself will be fun. But getting to and fro is going to be costly.
3. I teach on Monday mornings. Which means I have to fly back Sunday. Which means (a) I leave before the Super Bowl or (b) I leave during the Super Bowl and miss the game while en route. This sucks.
I am all for Miami. But, before we confirm the date, might we want to consider shifting 1-2 weeks earlier or later? If I'm the only one with doubts, no problem. But if not, speak up.

ReplyDeleteThanks Soren. I agree on all counts. If we can move the dates then that might make more sense. If everyone would like to be together for the SuperBowl event (watching on TV) then maybe we should consider an alternative location (some of you mentioned a few earlier).
