Top Ten

I would like to start a top ten for why Ziyad should join us in NOLA.

10. Without him, we sleep through the whole weekend.

  1. 9. Without Z, my Sebas won't be able to ask him why he's continuously slapping my cheeks in the back of a taxi

  2. 8. Without Z, who will help us fend off over-zealous beach towel vendors?

    7. Paraphrasing from Eminem's "Without Me": "It'll all be so empty... without Z!"

  3. 6. After a long night of drinking I need someone to help me figure out what kind of molecule I am. (What's your structure?)

  4. 5. Without Z, who will initiate arm wrestling tournaments?

  6. 4. Without Z, our United Nations trip will lack Asian continent representation and will only have Africa, North America, South America, and Europe. (We'll be forced to locate an asian at a strip club).

  7. 3. Without Z, who is going to pay Kofi to eat 20 hard boil eggs or do the cinnamon challenge?

  8. 2. Without Z, who is going to alert innocent college kids about transvestite/police scams taking place on Bourbon Street?

  9. And the number one reason for Z to come to New Orleans?....The trip won't be as good without you there. Plus, if Z isn't there, he'll have to listen to our tales of the weekend with regret and remorse that he didn't make the journy. Also, if you don't show we're giving your spot in the condo to Tony Siragusa.

  10. Gentlemen,

Thanks for the shout out. It’s been great thinking back to our many good times! And looking forward to our next gathering. Funny thing is each of us has a rap sheet that is as bizarre and awesome as this one.

I know a lot will be going down this great April 26th weekend, and the momentous nature of the gathering of such great minds. With the backdrop of a revived NOLA, jazz notes in the air, and the sizzle of the Cajun BBQ, I’d say this is going to be an epic mangrimage.

That being said, this is a year I am going to have to sit out. Not one thing, just a number of things I’ve got to be doing for a while. Life’s great, but sometimes you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. Definitely enjoying the ride.

I wish you all No Sleep. Hopefully someone will pick up the slack with regards to dumping out perfectly awesome beer, and refilling bottles with cranberry juice. If it makes perfect sense at the time, it’s probably something you should be doing. Remember slap now, ask questions later is generally a good policy. Maybe give the beach towel venders a break this time. Let’s say a 10% discount. If you’re tempted into the promise of pony rides and scuba diving, be sure to confirm that the ponies are well rested before you get on a boat ride that’ll probably leave you really selling towels. If there are any questions about molecular structure and stability just make sure you’re doing whatever it is Sebas is doing. You’ll make it through the night. Just make sure that someone has a key that fits. Given how long ago the arm wrestling went down, it’s probably time to measure up again. My bet is on Simon, then the Gus. Continental representation is going to be an issue. Truth is Klinker, you fit the bill. Just add some kh… to you khello and no one’ll know the difference. Kofi. Very glad you’re still alive. Considering what you’ve been through, I must admit I’ve really under estimated you, and furthermore I’ve underestimated what is humanly possible. This requires a few small adjustments to the challenge. Hard boiled eggs: Triple digits, let’s do this in minutes not hours. Cinnamon challenge: dessert. And a case of cranberry beer to wash it down. Let me know where you stand. With regards to transvestite/police scams, sometimes you’ve got to learn the hard way. Just make sure if you hear someone yelling at you from an 8th floor balcony, take the tip and keep walking. Send my best to the Gus. And tell him congratulations on taking the Vikings to the Superbowl. What an awesome season.

Cheers to these great times and to this awesome gathering!

  11. Gentlemen,

Will be seeing you Saturday by the bandstand. Bring your shirts and towels.

I don't know if you'll have the energy, but I plan for nobody sleeping Saturday night.

Will be departing at dawn Sunday.

Thanks for the messages. And thanks Ben for pulling the buzzer beater.

    Cheers,

    Mad Scientist
